KMTool - http://www.kmtool.net/ A resource for planning KM projects with an emphasis on including just in time professional reference material to stimulate ideas and learning. Also has job listings in the KM field and lots of links grouped by industry, topic, or organization type. This searchable database appears to be kept up to date - weekly updates are claimed.

KMWorld - http://www.kmworld.com/ KMWorld is the only IT business-to-business publication dedicated exclusively to linking buyers and sellers of KM technologies, systems and products together. Both the web site and print magazine are very good with a focus more on the nuts and bolts of implementing KM rather than theory. Great reviews of web sites sorted either by topic or rating.

Knowledge Management Consortium International - http://www.kmci.org/ The KMCI is a member-run, non-profit organization founded in 1997 devoted to developing a balanced view of knowledge management in the context of a learning organization. The KMCI offers education and training (Certificate and Professional Development Programs) in KM, has local chapters and annual conferences, and has different resources available on their site depending on whether you are a browser, or a member, possibly involved in distance learning with KMCI in their Certificate Program. KMCI fosters collaboration amongst KM practitioners. Even for non-members, the site has much up to date information on KM through links to its prolific members.

GKII (Global Knowledge Innovation Infrastructure) - http://www.gkii.org [Not to be confused with GKII, the second Global Knowledge Conference which took place in Malaysia, March 2000] GKII is an initiative of Entovation International and the Banff Center for Management. The initiative includes training and research components meant to "explore, create and develop ideas and possibilities, through an interactive collaborative programme with researchers, theorists, practitioners and founding sponsors."

Global Development Network - http://www.gdnet.org The Global Development Network (GDN) aims to enhance the quality and availability of policy-oriented research and strengthen the institutions which undertake this work. An electronic discussion (ongoing in April 2000) has sought broad feedback and inputs to develop a web strategy. IFAD's Evaluation Knowledge System - http://www.ifad.org/ifadeval/public_html/eksyst/toc/index.html This is a database of lessons learned based on IFAD's (International Fund for Agricultural Development) monitoring and evaluation activities related to projects and programs dealing with rural poverty in developing countries. This database is a take-off from the organization's evaluation department, in contrast to the World Bank's KM approach that is quite separate from the OE (Operations Evaluation) department at the Bank. For many development organizations, the evaluations department is a logical place for KM activities to start from.
